‘American Idol XIV’ finale results: Was Nick Fradiani or Clark Beckham the winner?

American Idol -Did we have a surprise on the “American Idol” finale Wednesday night? Going into the episode, we felt slightly in the favor of Clark Beckham winning, mostly because he was the established favorite for most of the season. However, at the same time we wanted to see Nick Fradiani take it. He was the better performer on finale night, and he finally got some momentum going in recent weeks after having some safe performances along the way.

In the end, the winner of the season was … Nick! This is great news obviously for him and his family, and he has the potential to have a good career thanks mostly to the unique sound of his voice and his drive. He also already has a pretty decent following across social media, and he just needs to get some record people in his corner. Here’s to hoping that Scott Borchetta is actually willing to do that.

For now, though, let’s just bask in Nick’s victory for a little while, cheer the great performances (Quentin Alexander!), and appreciate the attempt on some others (that performance featuring the surviving members of the Jackson Five and Tyanna Jones).

In case you want to know something really weird when it comes to the whole procedure of this year, it is that Fradiani wins despite “America’s Got Talent” completely shunning his group Beach Avenue after a very good first audition, with there seemingly being some opposition to the idea of them performing original songs. What a strange world this is when a guy can be shipped home so soon on one show and come back and win another.
