‘Shark Tank’ preview: Frameri, Air Car, The Paleo Diet Bar, World Record Striper Company, and Heidi Ho

Shark Tank -Friday night’s “Shark Tank” looks to be a fascinating one. There are already some businesses that we foresee not doing particularly well in the tank when this episode airs, but at the same time, there is also one or two we find particularly fascinating. We’re not sure that either will score an investment, but we always do like it when there are ideas presented that are so far out there, we would have never considered them a possibility. As for the track record on some of the pitches, that’s probably not anywhere near as good:

Just as we do with every one of these articles, let us start things off right now with the episode’s full synopsis below. This episode contains all of the sharks other than Barbara Corcoran:

“The Sharks take no prisoners, driving one entrepreneur to tears and grilling another: “Are you here to get exposure or to get exposed?” This week, a man from Brattleboro, VT joins singer Pat Boone to pitch a new eco-friendly car that they claim is superior to electric vehicles because it runs on compressed air; a super-fit mother of three from Ft. Collins, CO touts the benefits of her snack bars connected to a popular diet; a fisherman who holds the world record for biggest striped bass ever caught tries to net a Shark’s investment in his unique lure that helped him make that catch; and two men from Cincinnati, OH provide customers with sets of glasses and frames that are interchangeable and reasonably priced. And a follow-up story on Heidi Ho Organics in which Lori Greiner invested earlier this season.”

Frameri – It is certainly a good idea for those who want to be stylish while wearing glasses. These frames allow for you to pop in and out your lenses, which allows for a much larger amount of versatility than you get with most standard frames you buy. They can also fill a wide range of prescriptions, which is interesting to someone like us with a prescription that would make many an optical shop owner faint. We don’t really see a huge downside to this, unless you are someone who does not really want multiple frames and is just happy for one for the life of your prescription.

AirPod / Air Car – This is extremely fascinating to us: A car from Zero Pollution Motors that can run entirely on a form of compressed air. It is cheaper than standard cars, costs little to refill, and is obviously much friendlier on the environment. With all of this being said, this is an enormous undertaking given that this is such a new technology, and there are shortcomings. While these are ideal for city travel, they max out at around 50 miles an hour and do need to be recharged frequently. This is going to need a huge investment in order to come even remotely close to giving this business what it needs.

World Record Striper Company – This of this effectively as a better mousetrap for those out there wanting to catch striped bass and some other types of fish. There are a variety of different products here, but this is a field we know very little about. We’re inclined to believe them when they say that their product works. The question to us is whether there is a shark with interest in adding fishing products to their investment portfolio.

The Paleo Diet Bar – As someone who has very little self-control when it comes to food and really likes it that way, a bar like this really is not something that we’re really searching for. However, maybe people with dietary restrictions or on a specific diet will enjoy this. Getting into the right stores will be big for them, as will be getting the message out to people with specialty diets.
