‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8, episode 23 preview: Why Sheldon, Leonard’s mothers are coming to town

Big Bang Theory -Ever since we first got word about the story for Thursday night’s “Big Bang Theory” episode, we knew what the appeal was going to be: Getting the chance for the first time to see Sheldon and Cooper’s mothers together in the same place. This is the first chance we’ve had to see that, as the schedules of Laurie Metcalf and Christine Baranski probably make it difficult. (Baranski in particular spends most of the year filming “The Good Wife” in New York City.)

In case you are wondering why particularly these two women are turning up, there is a clear reason for it: Watching their sons receive a prestigious award. This is something that, per the sneak peek below, Sheldon’s mom always likes to be in attendance for. As for Leonard’s mom, probably not so much. He seems to dread her appearances as though they are a sort of plague.

For the record, it is somewhat strange that CBS has this listed as “sneak peek 3,” since at the time of this writing, there is not another sneak peek listed on their website. They’ll probably be put up at some after publication. (Granted, you wouldn’t be able to see it unless you are clicking on the video anyway.)

There is only one episode left beyond this one, and we know that it is not going to revolve in any capacity around parents. However, it will still tell an extremely important story in whether or not Leonard and Penny actually choose to get married sooner rather than later. Also, both Sheldon and Raj will have decisions to make about both Amy and Emily, respective, before the season comes to an end.
