‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11, episode 22 preview: More details on two-hour ‘She’s Leaving Home’

The future -Grey’s Anatomy” has never made an effort to shy away from difficult topics, but even for them moving forward after what happened to Derek Shepherd is something new. “She’s Leaving Home” is the title for the two-hour episode airing on Thursday night, and of course mourning Patrick Dempsey’s character is at the top of the priority list.

It took a long time for us to get anything close to an official synopsis from ABC, but at this given moment we understand why. The show obviously had a good reason to withhold it for a while, since they knew that they really did not want to give a whole lot of anything away about what would be the primary story of the hour.

While of course Derek will take center stage here, the synopsis below makes it clear that there will also be some important movements forward for Jackson, April, Bailey, and Ben:

“We see how Meredith and the doctors cope after they learn the news of Derek’s death. Meanwhile, April makes a shocking decision that Jackson cannot understand, and Bailey and Ben argue over their future.”

Now, can we just take a minute and beg that nothing terrible is going to happen to any other relationship on the show? Given everything that we have been through already now with the end of Meredith and Derek, we’re not entirely sure that we will be able to handle anything else.

Even after this episode airs, there will be two more installments to come this season. Hopefully, these will give you some further closure on this season.
