‘The Flash’ spoilers: Victor Garber will return as Martin Stein

The FlashYou can probably file this one under “go figure news,” in a way. Given that Victor Garber is going to be a part of the still-untitled spin-off we like to call Superteam (for now), it only makes sense that he would also stop by “The Flash” for at least one more episode this season. Plus, we already knew that Robbie Amell would be back as Firestorm from some of the trailers that have been out there.

The news regarding the return of Garber was mentioned on Twitter by Iris West a.k.a. Candice Patton, who was clearly in awe of working with the man much in the way that most people would be. The folks on “The Flash” this season have truly had some remarkable chances to work with some incredibly cool people who have contributed many things to TV. For example, you’ve got someone like Tom Cavanagh who has done some incredible work on a number of different shows, and then of course Mark Hamill stopped by, bringing back his classic character of James Jesse after it was dormant so many years.

As for why we need Firestorm again, what we can hope for is that this character is now a little less of an experiment, and now a fully-fledged superhero capable of harnessing his powers for good. There are, after all, many powers that Martin and Ronnie are still learning about, just like The Flash in many ways. These sort of things take time. Whatever happens in this episode, though, it does at least seem to be enough to convince Martin to stay in the crime-fighting business a while longer in the spin-off. Meanwhile, the status of this particular Amell is unclear beyond this season … even still.

“The Flash” is off this Tuesday, but should have a great episode in a little over a week in “All-Star Team-Up.” Be sure to take a look here at the promo for the installment, and sign up now to get some further TV updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: The CW.)
