‘Elementary’ season 3 spoilers: Is Sherlock Holmes’ sobriety in danger?

ElementaryEver since the very beginning of “Elementary” on CBS, there have been questions when it comes to the overall health of a certain Sherlock Holmes. While Jonny Lee Miller’s character is a brilliant detective, he is also an addict, and we have learned time and time again that this can cause all sorts of problems.

Well, we at least know that there is going to be an episode coming up soon where some of these questions in regards to Holmes’ history of using are going to rise to the forefront again. Speaking in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly on the subject of what could be coming up for his character, executive producer Rob Doherty had the following to say:

“When you’re dealing with someone with Sherlock’s history, you should always be worried … Is he in more danger for not going to meetings? Yes. Personally, I’m a little concerned that he’s choosing to put some distance between him and the group.”

Regardless of whatever it is specifically that “Elementary” decides to do when it comes to Holmes’ state, we do hope that they do something. This show has sunk into a little bit of a lull as of late, and we blame some rather bland storytelling for that more so than the arrival of a single character like Kitty Winter. The show did actually improve its ratings somewhat Thursday night, but it needs to do more than a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic to last long-term. Syndication may save it next year, but that is it.
