‘The Originals’ season 2, episode 3 video: A deeper look at ‘Every Mother’s Son’

Monday night’s new episode of “The Originals” is almost here, and this is going to be one of the most intriguing ones that we’ve seen yet this season.

Let’s begin with the title itself: “Every Mother’s Son.” If that is not a major tip-off that we’re dealing with a story that puts the character of Esther front and center, we really do not know what is. With that being said, we are thinking more so about Esther through the lens of Cassie.

In the sneak peek below, executive producers Julie Plec and Michael Narducci each do their part to take you through some of the events of this particular episode, including the unusual situation that the original children are going to find themselves in when it comes to dealing with Esther in this way.

Still, what makes this story so important is that it marks the first real opportunity that we have had all season in order to get some sort of real picture of what her endgame is. She obviously has a specific plan when it comes to her children, even if she has been that clear about what it is, and how badly it will hurt someone like Klaus in the process.

Regardless of what happens in this episode, the one thing that we do feel pretty sure about is that you’re not going to see the end of the story this week. There is so much invested in this now, we almost feel like a tale best suited for the front 13 installments.
