‘Supernatural’ season 9 spoilers: Ready to see more Jody Mills?

What's coming up? -As we said recently, “Supernatural” does seem to very much love its recurring guest stars right now. We just found out that Tessa is coming back to cart some soul into the afterlife, and joins a crew of familiar faces this season that includes Charlie and Jody Mills … and we know for sure now that the latter is coming back.

The CW today unveiled their first synopsis for the upcoming April 22 episode with the curious title “Alex Annie Alexis Anne” (try saying that a few times fast), and maybe it gives you a slight inclination, in addition to Jody’s return, as to what that title is about:

“Sheriff Mills (guest star Kim Rhodes) calls Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) after she kills a vampire who attacked a prisoner named Annie (guest star Katherine Ramdeen). They discover Annie was kidnapped by a family of vampires who use her as bait to lure in humans they can then feed on. Sheriff Mills tries to rescue Annie from her captors, but finds out the hard way that family always comes first.”

This certainly sounds interesting, but we also cannot help but fear for Jody’s life with this. She’s a woman who is constantly around danger, and we’ve already learned this season (and with many in the past) that this show has no problem killing off recurring roles. Kevin’s passing in particular is one that still haunts us especially, given that we for whatever reason didn’t see it coming.

There are only a few episodes left this season, and hopefully as the weeks progress we’ll have an opportunity to find out a little bit more of how stories like these ultimately shape the Winchesters’ relationship, and whether or not they can stop Abaddon and also make Heaven a place for the angels again.
