‘Arrow’ season 2 video: The producers play to Oliver / Felicity fandom

Isn’t it funny how the world of television works? Even though you put two characters together on a television show in hopes that they will end up becoming endgame for one another, there’s no guarantee that this ends up being what fans want. Instead, you have some surprises … and in the world of “Arrow,” that surprise is Oliver and Felicity. Did the producers know they were putting two characters together with such great working chemistry at the time that they were first writing these scenes? The promotion of Emily Bett Rickards to series regular early this year proved that they knew exactly what they were doing at the end of the day. She’s now a significant part of the show, and the possibilities there are larger than they ever were before.

But how significant are the chances of a hookup this year? If nothing else, the latest promo below for the show proves that the folks working on this series behind the scenes are very much aware of the love that is out there for these two and the hope that they will get together.

Content-wise, the best moment of the video is actually still one that we’ve seen in another sneak peek, where Felicity comments on how “sweaty” Oliver is in the way that is not entirely complimentary, but we can be taken in about a dozen other ways that are worth noting. There is also a reminder in here that Oliver and Laurel, the original go-to couple, are now over for the time being. So is the door open? At least somewhat, but Oliver could have some competition courtesy of Barry Allen. The only way that he could know if he has feelings is seeing her with another man; we’ve seen it happen one way, but never the other.
