Pluribus season 1 episode 2: Who is the mystery woman?
While the series premiere of Pluribus on Apple TV certainly had its moments, episode 2 is really where things got moving in an interesting direction. After all, we saw here the full extent of the alien invasion, some of the rules that they have in governing humans, and a few other details along the way.
In the midst of all of this, we still do have questions, including what is going on with the woman we saw in the cold open for episode 2. In this, we see a woman in a faraway city assist with moving a body before boarding a cargo plane, flying it to Albuquerque, and then completely changing her identity upon her arrival. We know that, per the aliens, there are only thirteen people out there they have been unable in inhabit. Is this one of them, or someone else entirely?

How we view the sequence in Pluribus episode 2 is merely as evidence that there is a world going on here that Rhea Seehorn’s character of Carol may be unable to ignore. She also has shown that she does not necessarily want to, as one of her primary goals is trying to “save” a human race who may not fundamentally understand that it needs saving. Nobody has been willing to listen to her yet, and the other problem is that she has no real resources.
One thing we are fairly confident in right now is merely that Vince Gilligan has a larger plan for this pilot; also, that Pluribus, with a two-season order, is going to have a really good opportunity to break a lot of this down. For us personally, we really just hope that the rest of the season is more like the excellent episode 2 than the pilot, which took a little bit of time to get going and seemed to struggle more with what the general tone of the series is meant to be.
