IT: Welcome to Derry season 1 episode 2 gets early release

Just in case you are already hungry for more of IT: Welcome to Derry on HBO Max following the premiere this weekend, we have great news!

Today, the streaming service confirmed that on Friday, October 31 (Halloween!), the new episode of the prequel drama will arrive for streaming at 3:00 a.m. Eastern time / midnight Pacific time. It will still air on HBO proper at its standard time on Sunday night. The move is obviously meant to generate buzz, and also give viewers something to watch who are not going to be out trick-or-treating.

Now that we know of the early release time for the second Welcome to Derry episode, the hope is that the producers are going to be able to get people hooked on the story even faster than anticipated. The first episode did a great job of at least allowing us to meet some characters and be surprised by what we saw. In particular, there is a big debate happening now regarding who lived / who died that should keep us engaged and excited for a good while now. If the series can find a way to continue to generate this sort of buzz, we tend to think we’re going to happy for quite some time.

Now, let’s just cross our fingers and hope that the rest of the show will be as exciting and horrifying all at once. One thing that has been pretty much confirmed at this point is that we are going to be waiting a good while to see Pennywise in its classic clown form. Just be prepared to wait a little while for that.
