‘Dexter’ season 8 premiere spoilers: Dr. Vogel states her case (video)

Do you love characters somewhat shrouded in mystery? Then right now, Dr. Evelyn Vogel has to be near the top of your list. Charlotte Rampling is playing the recurring role on “Dexter” season 8, and she can be best described as follows: An extremely intelligent expert in psychopaths, who also just so happens to form a unique connection to Dexter. How unique? Well, she is going to be slammed against a door at some point by our killer by the end of the first episode.

In the sneak peek below, you get a better opportunity to see a little bit more about what this woman is really all about … and why she was brought in to help figure out the inner psyche of a killer who is known only as the Brain Surgeon. Is this the Big Bad for this season? We’re not quite so sure, given that this is the final season of the show; why waste our time on some sort of huckalero that is not going to be that important to the story?

What we can promise for now is that Evelyn will be sticking around for a while, and as you know, she’s not the only major guest star stopping by this season. Sean Patrick Flanery has a major arc at some point, and Yvonne Strahovski will also be coming back as Hannah McKay at some point for another extended run.
