‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10 spoilers: The (current) plan for Hilarie Burton

If you love “Grey’s Anatomy,” and in particular the Callie and Arizona relationship, then seeing Hilarie Burton’s Lauren cause a major strain in their relationship was a dagger in the heart. Arizona cheated on her wife with Lauren near the end of the season, and all of those unresolved feelings, when it came to the amputation following the plane crash, rose to the surface.

Is this story over? Far from it, given that Sara Ramirez and Jessica Capshaw’s characters are left in a devastating situation. The primary mystery is whether or not the “White Collar” actress will be around to continue her own role in the saga in the immediate future.

For the time being, it appears as though the answer is “no.” According to TVLine, there is no sign yet of Burton playing Lauren again in the new season, but remember this: We are still very early in the process. The writers have long started work on new stories, but with 24 episodes, things can constantly change depending on a number of factors. (One example can be seen in how Shonda Rhimes decided to completely do a 180 on the season finale for this past season, which was originally going to be a very different story.)

Burton will be rather busy even without a “Grey’s Anatomy” return, given that she will be returning to “White Collar” at some point. She was a part of a pilot on Fox in “The List,” but it was not picked up to series earlier this spring.
