‘American Idol’ notes: Kris Allen, David Cook, and Liam Hemsworth with Angie Miller
To kick off this “American Idol” notes, it seems appropriate to actually feature some music, no? The fact that this music is coming from the sensational Kris Allen should really just serve as icing on the cake.
For much of the past few months during his “Out Alive” tour, the season 8 champ has been performing covers by request, and last night in Chicago, he took on what has to be one of our favorite songs of all time “In Your Eyes” from Peter Gabriel. (Fun fact: we liked this song long before we even saw “Say Anything.”) It’s almost a given that Kris nailed the vocals on the song, but what we really have to commend is how he and his band manage to get so many of these songs together so quickly, and deliver to so many different audiences around the country a unique experience each time.
Is David Cook performing? – There is no confirmation yet as to who is performing on the May 2 “American Idol” results show, but according to some new rumors, it may be none other than David Cook. Mjsbigblog is reporting via Andrew Waldeck, the co-writer of David’s new song “Laying Me Low,” that he will be back on the stage again.
“American Idol” has always been very generous when it comes to not only having David back on, and the timing seems perfect considering that the new song comes out on April 30. You can hear a 30-second snippet of it here.
Angie meets Liam – This is what happens when you get on the show! Angie Miller is one of the final four ladies on “American Idol” this season, and she managed to get this photo of herself alongside Liam Hemsworth of “The Hunger Games” fame. Angie, Kree Harrison, Amber Holcomb, and Candice Glover were all looking to give back this weekend, and there is probably a segment on it that we are going to see on the results show airing on Thursday night. Stay tuned for more on that…
