ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Arrow’s’ John Barrowman signs on

ScandalIs the world of “Scandal” about to get that much more menacing? It seems that way, at least in theory given that a certain Dark Archer will be visiting the show later on this season.

In a new post on her official Twitter account, executive producer Shonda Rhimes confirmed that John Barrowman, best known for his roles on “Torchwood” and as Tommy’s father this season on “Arrow,” will be playing some sort of mysterious role near the end of season 2. Our guess is that he won’t be wearing a dark hood and killing people left and right, but anything can happen on this show.

Does this mean that Barrowman’s time on “Arrow” is over? It’s much to soon to assume anything like that, given that he has been recurring throughout much of the comic book drama’s first season, and he could just bounce back and forth a little bit. After all, he only needs to appear in a few episodes in order to leave some sort of significant mark.

Barrowman does join a pretty impressive list of guest stars on “Scandal” as of late, as we also recently had “House” alum Lisa Edelstein stop by as a new client for Olivia Pope. As we near the end of this season, though, we expect that the story will revolve a little bit more on the overall arc, and not so much on some of these self-contained storylines that are over within the episode.
