‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 19 preview: The Jo / Alex tension goes up a notch

Just in case you thought that things were not already tense when it came to Alex and Jo’s new boyfriend on “Grey’s Anatomy” season 9, they are about to be. After all,the latest preview for Thursday night’s episode suggests that we are really about to see the tension between the two boil over.

At first, the motivation for the confrontation seems to be completely unrelated to anything that involves Camilla Luddington’s character at all, as Alex asks him if he would like to come deliver some bad news to a patient, as he was there to do a similar role to someone who was related to them. Jason’s response? That Alex just doesn’t want to do it, and he is showing attitude mostly because of the fact that he doesn’t like who Jo is with.

While we agree at least partially with Jason, we’re still not sure that Alex has necessarily made it to the point yet where he is really able to admit this just yet. Will it happen? Probably, but this is going to be something that ends up taking a little bit of time … or at least enough to bring forward some more drama leading up to the season finale. If these two were to get together too soon, then the payoff would not be what Shonda Rhimes really wants; plus, you have to give people something worth looking forward to, right? It’s for this reason that we would almost not be surprised to see the relationship status between these two remain a mystery until next season.
