‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 4 spoilers: What’s up with Jenna, Shana, and Melissa?

While the primary question left over from the “Pretty Little Liars” finale last week is whether or not Alison DiLaurentis is really Red Coat, there is also one other question that is certainly worth asking right about now: what in the world are Jenna, Shana, and Melissa up to? We learned during this episode that like with the Liars themselves, these three have been scheming for quite some time. Unfortunately, we don’t know their endgame, and their motivations are, or if they are people that can really be trusted for anything. (Plus, are Jenna and Shana some sort of item?)

When it comes specifically two this possible new couple, executive producer Oliver Goldstick did his best to tease the following in a new interview with TVLine, and made a rather interesting comparison to Shakespeare that we really quite like:

“You’ll see both around. We saw [in last week’s finale] that they’re a weird trio, like Macbeth’s witches, with Melissa and Jenna and Shana plotting. So the four girls start Season 4 questioning what the alliance is between those three. Is one of them actually giving orders to the others? What bonds them besides their antipathy toward Alison and the Liars?”

The hope obviously is that all of the characters will have as large of a role as possible, especially since we didn’t really know who Shana was until the “Pretty Dirty Secrets” web series, and Melissa and Jenna only made a few sporadic appearances throughout the rest of the season. (With Torrey DeVitto now on “Army Wives,” we know that she has to be pretty busy these days.)
