‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4: Joseph Morgan, ‘The Originals’ wrap in New Orleans
While we don’t know for certain whether or not every bit of production on “The Originals,” quite possibly the most-hyped backdoor pilot of any show that we have seen in some time, is complete, we can say one thing as of this writing: the episode of “The Vampire Diaries” (which is going to air on April 25) is getting closer and closer to reaching its conclusion.
Want more evidence of this very thing? All you have to do is listen to what the show’s executive producer Julie Plec had to say in a new series of posts on Twitter, which reference everything from production to drinking, partying with fans, and enjoying time in one of the most famous districts of any city in America:
“Wrapped our NOLA shoot at 5:30am after a spectacular week shooting in the French Quarter. New Orleans has won our hearts & minds…our stomachs, our livers. Had ‘breakfast’ with some of the TVDFam at Flanagan’s 24 hour Irish bar. The perfect capper to a perfect week.”
Just in case you have missed the boat on “The Originals” thus far, what we can tell you is that the show, at least so long as The CW picks it up, it going to star Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, and potentially Claire Holt as they move over to New Orleans following some time in Mystic Falls. It is here that the characters will work on building a new society in a place that is very much connected to some of their past, as an old pal of Klaus’ named Marcel is now running the series. If production continues, “The Originals” will actually film the rest of its episodes in Atlanta, that way it is easy for Plec to move between the two shows and she can also have more crossover possibilities.
