‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6 spoilers: Kurt Sutter talks meeting with Charlie Hunnam

Are you ready for the latest “Sons of Anarchy” progress report from Kurt Sutter? This may be the most informative of the “WTFSutter” videos produced by the showrunner yet, as he really gets into some detail about the relationship that he has with the star of his show, and just what sort of conversations the two parties have before production of new episodes even beings (which will be happening in May this time around).

Before Sutter got into details when it comes to this conversation and how the show has evolved, especially in terms of having the supporting characters change and grow over time in relation to the hero, he explained why he always chooses to sit down with Charlie Hunnam on a few occasions during the writing and story-building process:

“I usually pitch the season to the network, and I do a couple of meetings with Charlie before the season kicks off fully … where I bring him up to speed on some of the major arcs, what we’re doing so he can start to wrap his brain around the season.”

Of course, Sutter did not bring us up to speed on what is going to happen to Jax … though isn’t this one of the shows where you really want it to be a surprise? Personally, we’re just happy to hear about the planning stages, and also how something as visual as promotional posters have evolved thanks to the popularity of some of the supporting roles.

Sutter also gives in the video (which contains some language as always) a thorough explanation as to why he can never develop some supporting roles as much as he would like, since the show is Jax’s story first and foremost and it has to revolve mostly on him, Clay, and Gemma. This may be in some sort of way a response to all of the questions he receives on Twitter regularly about whether or not Tig, Filthy Phil, or someone else will have a larger role. There is also some talk about music at the end, just for some of you who are interested in how songs are selected.
