‘Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs. Favorites’ rankings: Are Matt and Michael in power?
What a change a week makes for the Fans tribe on “Survivor Caramoan.” The last time that we ranked the members of this tribe, we did so back when it was pretty clear that Reynold and Eddie were on the outs and knocking on death’s door in this game. Meanwhile, Sherri was completely running the show while using Shamar and Laura (two targets due to camp life and challenge performance, respectively) as shields to ensure that she stayed safe in the game for a while.
Unfortunately for Sherri, two of her biggest allies in this game are now gone completely, and Matt and Michael ended up being the ones that came up with the idea for Laura’s ouster to strengthen the tribe. So are they really going to be able to win now? This is the biggest question moving forward, along with what the tribe will do next if they lose again.
As we’ve said before, our rankings are based on a number of factors, including edit, challenge ability, strategy, and perception by other people in the game.
The rankings
6. Reynold Toepfer (last week: 4) – While we know he is probably the biggest challenge asset they have, we have to remember here that Matt and Michael are still technically in an alliance with Sherri and Julia. If they lose again, might they realize that they should just go ahead and get rid of the guys most likely to flip?
5. Eddie Fox (6) – Since Reynold is the biggest threat in the game strategically to the alliance, he will probably be the first person sent home. Meanwhile, all Eddie is probably going to do for the time being is chill around camp, hope that there are some challenge wins coming up, and he stays long enough to flip until the merge.
4. Sherri Biethman (3) – At this point, the young guys have to realize that Sherri is a threat to them in the game, and if Reynold and Eddie have any pull at all into what Matt and Michael do, this will probably be her target. She’s a smart player, but she will need to make a good argument if she wants to stick around.
3. Julia Landauer (5) – Considering that we haven’t seen Julia, we have to imagine that no one is explicitly targeting her right now. Could she be seen as the weakest link of the people remaining? We think she has to be a little more effective in challenges than Sherri.
2. Matt Bischoff (2) – While we agree with Matt’s move to oust Laura in the short-term, and his tribe is more likely to win now, we’re not so sure about its impact in the game several weeks down the road. He’s going to have to work hard to keep Reynold and Eddie on his side, and we’re not sure he is a savvy enough game-player to do that.
1. Michael Snow (1) – Finally, we turn to Michael. This is a guy who has not received a ton of airtime, but we have been impressed by him every time he has shown off. He’s got a brain for the game, is laying low, and allowing other people to take the brunt of responsibility for their moves. It’s the best way to play “Survivor” early on without becoming a target.
