‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2 spoilers: Is there hope for Belle?
“Once Upon a Time” is a show about fairy tales; and with this very thing in mind, you really do have to hope for a happily ever after for almost every character … and that tragic circumstances may not stay that way for long.
Clearly, one of the familiar faces at the moment who is suffering the most is Belle (Emilie de Ravin), largely because she has no recollection at all as to who she even is. Ever since Captain Hook sent her over the side, she has spent her time cooped up in a hospital bed, acting angry, and throwing stuff at the creepy guy (really the man who loves her in Mr. Gold) who comes near her and tries to explain what happened.
So will Belle eventually break free from this spell? While executive producer Edward Kitsis did not confirm anything in a new interview with TV Guide, you can take what he said as a pretty strong indication that the “Beauty and the Beast” heroine is going to find a way out of this:
“If it was permanent, that would be the most bleak end.”
As for how she manages to break the spell, let’s hope that Rumple is involved largely for the sake of poetic justice, and for him to have the satisfaction of having his love back just as he did back at the end of season 1. With that being said, we know that Belle has an interesting story ahead in the more immediate future, especially as the new Storybrooke arrival starts to question her about the town.
