Are you ready to see Mrs. Patmore on “Once Upon a Time“? Actress Lesley Nicol of “Downton Abbey” fame is set to appear in an upcoming episode of the hit ABC show as an attendant to Snow White’s mother (Rena Sofer), and we have the first photo of her to the left of this article (via TV Guide) in front of one of the show’s frequently-used green screens.
In order to film this show in Vancouver, Nicol has reportedly seen the first five scripts for “Downton Abbey” season 4 pile up back at her home in the United Kingdom. The popular ITV show starts filming later this month, and will likely focus just on how all of the staff, including Mrs. Patmore, copes with some of the tragedies that befell them throughout much of season 3.
Since there is such a short amount of time between filming “Once Upon a Time” and “Downton Abbey,” Nicol is going to look relatively close to how she does as Patmore, though it is unclear if this character is going to be as kindly and motherly as she often is on her other program. Regardless, we’re simply thrilled to see her getting an opportunity to do a little bit of American television after developing such an incredible body of work over in the UK.
“Once Upon a Time” will be through with its lengthy hiatus on Sunday, which is when it will air its next new episode entitled “Tiny.” This is one of two new episodes for the show this month, as it will also be off near the end of the month courtesy of the Academy Awards.
