‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: ‘The Originals’ spin-off casting news
We have some truly bewitching news coming in now concerning “The Vampire Diaries”: the identity of one of the witches that will be appearing on the upcoming backdoor pilot “The Originals.”
According to a new report from Deadline, relative unknown Daniella Pineda (who did have a very small role on “Homeland”) has been cast for the role of Sophie, one of the two witches that executive producer Julie Plec is looking to work with on the show for at least this April 25 episode and possibly longer. Here is the official description of the character below:
“Strong and driven, Sophie is a warrior. A witch whose magic has been silenced but not snuffed, Sophie is quietly sowing the seeds of a revolution amongst her peers. She’s a leader, a sexy social force. An enormous bleeding heart that she often disguises with a sharp tongue and a glare.”
Sophie is going to be featured in a place in which magic from witches is largely suppressed, but she is going to have opportunities to both find her voice and her power.
There will be one other witch that is yet to be revealed casting-wise for this episode, and they join such other new characters as Marcel (a possible protegee of sorts to Klaus) and Camille, a young woman who is a college student at Tulane who, like Elena was at the start of “the Vampire Diaries,” has no knowledge of vampires at all. Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, and Phoebe Tonkin are the three actors currently headlining this new project.
