ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2, episode 12 preview: Fitz without fear

Fitzgerald Grant is finally back on his feet following the assassination attempt, and in addition to that, he is really holding nothing back.

In the sneak peek below from Thursday night’s all-new episode of “Scandal,” the President makes it very clear to Cyrus that now that he has been at death’s door, he looks at life in a completely different way. What is there for him to be afraid of anymore? With this in mind, he announces that he is planning to move forward with his divorce from Mellie, even though she is pregnant and that this is not going to be the greatest move to make for the sake of his image. In addition to that, he plans to remain in the highest office through the entire process.

We imagine that much of the reason behind this divorce at the moment is a desire to be with Kerry Washington’s Olivia Pope, but what Fitz may or may not realize at this very moment is that her personal life is also taking some interesting twists and turns. She has an opportunity to move into life now as a married woman, even though it is hardly with the same sort of honesty that you would hope for from a couple given the long-term nature of her affair.

Ultimately, we anticipate this story being resolved, however, that may be, by the end of next week’s episode. After all, the fourteenth episode of this season is going to be taking place a whopping ten months after the events of episode 13. Not only that, but it will feature some important new characters, including a mystery man portrayed by Scott Foley who takes an interest in Olivia.
