‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 13 preview: Is Meredith’s baby in trouble?

It would not be a Shonda Rhimes series without a troubled pregnancy, so it only makes sense that we would be seeing Ellen Pompeo’s character of Meredith go through some pretty tough times on next week’s new “Grey’s Anatomy” season 9 episode.

So what is going to cause her unborn child to have problems? That much is still not entirely clear, but she explains that “something’s not right” before the eyes of panic start to wander around the room a little bit. This is likely now just one of the many things on Meredith’s mind, as she also has to deal with the fact that Seattle Grace may still be on the verge of shutting down, and there could even be some resentment there from her fellow doctors over the $60 million settlement that is being handed down (even though you could still make the tangible argument that they have suffered for it).

Expect to see plenty more of Dr. Alana Cahill during “Bad Blood,” as she is not through trying to come up with some ways to save the hospital. Meanwhile, also get set to watch an interesting patient of the week storyline regarding someone whose religious beliefs could get in the way of the care that they need. Do you compromise a patient’s religion in order to save their lives? There are few dilemmas you run in to more in medicine than this, and we will hopefully get a pretty interesting explanation into just what happens.

While there are plenty other storylines going on right now (including the evolution of Cristina and Owen along with Alex getting closer to Jo), the focus still for the time being is on the hospital. We’re sure we will know if its fate by the end of the February sweeps, and we bet that it stays open; however, we’re sure there will also be consequences that come with it.
