NBC’s ‘The Voice’ winner Cassadee Pope scores big on the charts

Cassadee PopeEven though Cassadee Pope still has a ways to go in showing that the winner of “The Voice” can be a major force to be reckoned with in the recording industry, we are at least reasonably pleased now to say that she is off to a pretty great start when it comes to one of the things that matters most: record sales.

Even in spite of having no real winners’ single like the stars of “American Idol” do, Cassadee’s recently-released album of hits from the NBC singing competition debuted this past week to 11,000 copies sold. Not only was this enough to allow her to debut at #125 on the Billboard 200 during a competitive holiday season, but it also allowed her to rise to the top of the music-charting service’s Heatseekers chart. For those unfamiliar, this chart measures the top performances from acts that have never had a disc in the Billboard 200.

For those hoping that Pope is going to get the ball rolling on a major-label debut album soon, there is also some good news: the singer is set to begin working with some writers again and recording in January, and we are sure that the show is going to be interested in having her come on one of the live results shows when season 4 launches in the spring. They have, after all, done something similar in the past with both Jermaine Paul and Javier Colon, and neither of them had the buzz coming off the show that Pope has going right now.

Do you think that Cassadee’s odds of being successful as a recording star are pretty high at the moment? If you want to see just when you can catch her on TV next, be sure to head over to the link here!
