NBC’s ‘The Voice’ winner Cassadee Pope joins Blake Shelton for New Year’s Eve

Cassadee PopeYou may as well rename NBC’s annual New Year’s Eve special “let’s talk about ‘The Voice’ a little bit more.” The singing competition is the network’s highest-rated show by a pretty wide margin, so it really should not come as too much of a surprise to anyone that many of the top personalities from the show, including the reigning champ in Cassadee Pope, would be joining Carson Daly for a night of entertainment.

Per the latest announcement from NBC, some of the people who are already confirmed to be at the event (which is formally titled “New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly”) this year include the likes of Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, and Cee Lo Green. Heck, even the band Train had their frontman in Pat Monahan featured earlier this year when the “Forget You” singer was feeling ill.

As for some of the non-singing stars that will make appearance during the special, they include a feast of other network personalities including Amy Poehler, Adam Scott, Jimmy Fallon, Jay Leno, Donald Trump, Nick Offerman, and Angela Kinsey. It’s pretty interesting that half of the “Parks and Recreation” cast is more or less booked to attend here, but no one from “30 Rock” despite the show actually being set in New York City (where the famous ball drops). It’s pretty clear that NBC is firmly on board with making Leslie Knope their new anchor (at least at the moment) with “The Office” coming to a close at the end of the year.

Are you glad to see Cassadee on board this special, and are you actually planning to watch it this year over “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest”? If you want to see some other videos from Cassadee’s post-show publicity tour, you can do so over at the link here.
