Queen of the South season 5 episode 9: Is Teresa really dead?
For the time being, we’re concerned: It’s hard not to be. Not only does it appear as though Alice Braga’s character is dead, but that James of all people was responsible! This is dark, very-much twisted, and sad for a lot of longtime fans to think about. It’s certainly not something we want to imagine — how could the story end like this?
Going into this final season, we were well-aware of how the stories go for characters in the kingpin/queenpin role. We know what happened to Walter White and James St. Patrick. Yet, Teresa is not the same character; she’s had her own journey, and she could reach her own conclusion. Of course, that’s assuming that there is a chance she is still alive.
Remember this: On another USA series in White Collar, we saw the main character fake his own death. Could there be something similar going on here? We can’t rule it out entirely, and there is still another episode still to go. There are a lot of big twists the show could still throw at us, and it’s the idea that tonight wasn’t the series finale that offers up some hope. How can they have a show entitled Queen of the South without the queen at the center of it? The final episode could be about the supporting characters, sure, but would it really be the same?
If the writers wanted to create a great cliffhanger leading into the series finale, they’ve done it! We’re going to be waiting feverishly over the next seven days to see how in the world they wrap all of this up.
