‘Homeland’ season 2 spoilers: Will Carrie and Brody [spoiler]?

Sunday night’s new episode of “Homeland” season 2 clearly showed us that there is still some serious chemistry between Carrie and Brody despite everything that the two have been through … but does this really mean that we are about to watch the most dysfunctional relationship in television turn romantic yet again? Based on the first promo Showtime released for the next new episode “The Clearing,” the answer here could be “yes.”

Since we as viewers are left unaware as to the context of what is in this clip, we have to take a literal interpretation of what we are seeing … and that is basically that Brody and Carrie kiss each. Is this part of a dream sequence, or their new cover to protect themselves from Abu Nazir? Outside of them falling back in love with each other, these are the only likely scenarios that could be possible given the information that we know. Brody has already told Jess that Carrie is not a part of the work he is doing with the CIA, and there’s no reason to cover anything up for the agency.

As for what else could be in this episode, we will be inching closer to learning just what Nazir’s plans for an attack on America are … and they involve a lot of C4. Dana’s story is also going to continue to build in intensity, as it starts to become more and more clear that she is not going to be able to hold her emotions in forever when it comes to Finn killing a woman in a hit-and-run, no matter how badly the Vice-President’s son may want it to be a secret.
