Last Man Standing season 8’s big premiere; Fox midseason schedule
Earlier this week, we reported that you’ll be seeing Last Man Standing return on Thursday, January 2 with two episodes, one airing right after the other starting at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. We can’t say that we’re too shocked about this, given the fact that there are still a LOT of episodes to come this season and there’s only so much time from January until the end of the season in May. There could be more double-episodes, as well, if Last Man Standing ends up following a similar pattern to The Blacklist, which had a full-season order and premiered in January earlier this year with season 6.

Overall
It seems clear that Fox is banking on a few different things with their midseason schedule — 9-1-1, unscripted fare, and then also more comedies with Last Man Standing leading the charge. If 9-1-1 Lone Star ends up being anything close to what the flagship show has been for them, there’s reason to think that they will be rather happy with the end result.
