Even though there is no specific Heated Rivalry season 2 premiere date out there yet, we know that the anticipation is already bubbling over. The first season of the hockey romance (which streams stateside on HBO Max) managed to become a sensation, delivering one of 2025’s best love stories while also bringing more attention to the sport all over the globe.

Anytime that you have a runaway hit, there is always the temptation to get more out there sooner rather than later. However, based at least on what we are seeing at this point, everyone is doing what they can to exercise some patience and allowing executive producer Jacob Tierney to get things together at his own pace. That is, of course, paramount to making a great product that lives up to the hype.

Speaking (per Deadline) the same day as the Bell Media upfronts in Canada, here is some of what Carlyn Klebuc, Bell’s General Manager of Original Programming had to say about the next Heated Rivalry chapter:

“We would have liked it faster, but Jacob is writing and directing, and he needs the time to make another beautiful season, which we’re confident he will do.”

All signs right now are pointing to a 2027 return and we do think you can circle that on your calendar safely. Even if it is taking some time to get the next season filmed, this is not one of those shows that takes a million years to put together behind the scenes. It can be turned around in a reasonably quick fashion and from there, it is really just about finding the best spot possible on the calendar. (With a show this big, almost any spot could be considered a good spot.)
