Criminal Minds season 15: See Aisha Tyler’s message as she wraps filming
On Friday, a number of cast members including Aisha Tyler and Daniel Henney officially wrapped filming on the series, and we strongly recommend checking out Tyler’s full Instagram Stories to get a good sense of what it was like for her working on this super-emotional day. She also posted the incredible message that we’ve got below on the aforementioned social-media platform, one where she explains what it was like trying to say goodbye to this show and her role as Dr. Tara Lewis.
While Tyler has not been a part of the series from the beginning, she’s been a big part of the past few years, she’s directed episodes, and she’s made some incredible friendships. She also explains something that has always been a point of curiosity to a lot of people out there: Why this show has become so popular all over the world and is often viewed as comforting, even though it’s really dark more often than not. She talks about the nature of these heroes and the feeling that is out there that these people exist in real life and are working to keep everyone safe. She credits the real-life BAU and talks about how this show has helped there to be more awareness of the work they do and even how it may help young people want to pursue careers that could lead to that place. We think of it just like we think of how Grey’s Anatomy may have inspired people to be doctors or how NCIS may have inspired people to be federal agents in that sense.
While the cast may be saying goodbye to production for the time being, unfortunately, we are still set to wait an extremely long time to see these episodes air. More than likely, we’ll find out whether or not the final season is airing this fall at network upfronts next week; our hope is that we’ll see Criminal Minds stick around on Wednesdays and get to finish its run by December at the latest. Given that this part of production seems to be done, we’re hoping that we don’t have to wait an insanely long time for more.

What else is there to do?
The episodes (or at least some of them) still need to be edited and properly scored, and we could see the cast needed to record in ADR if there is anything left that needs to be added in. There’s so much work that goes into every episode and this is just one step — but you have to thank Tyler and the rest of the cast for pouring their heart and soul into every single element of this.
