Elementary season 7: See Jonny Lee Miller’s tribute to series

Obviously, learning the news has caused us to look at everything related to the show in a different light, especially when you consider the fact that the cast has known about the plan to end the show for much of production. Logistically, everything just made sense. The series has remained profitable for the past few years because of international distribution, streaming, and other factors. Yet, with the contracts for Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu expiring at the end of this season, it made sense at this juncture for everyone to move forward. This is a show that generated more than 150 episodes for the network and ushered in a whole new chapter of Sherlock Holmes fans. It’s had a really successful run, even if some of it has been done in a rather-unexpected way over the past few years. Take, for example, in season 6 when the series aired new episodes in the summer for the most part.
Prior to the news of the final season being made public, Miller posted a thank-you message on Instagram for everyone who has been watching and supporting the series all of these years. This post does certainly have an added bit of meaning now, but it was still poignant when he first shared it. After all, it was a humble thanks to everyone who made this show what it was for so many years. Miller and Liu were the engines that really made things go and the two worked really hard, alongside the remainder of the cast and crew, to make this series a runaway success.
As for how all of it will end, our hope is mainly that Sherlock, Joan, Gregson, and Bell will be reunited in some way, and that the characters are going to walk off into the sunset doing what they do best: Solving crimes and taking down the bad guys.
