Wynonna Earp season 3 episode 8 photo: Is some Doc backstory coming?
While nothing is anywhere close to confirmed at the moment, it does appear that we are going to have a chance to see coming up a little bit of the history that exists between Doc and Kate — otherwise known as how the two got to where they are now. Through most of the season, we’ve gotten a few assorted details when it comes to their past relationship and what led to them in this place, but this could be the chance to really fill in some of those cracks and give us a good sense as to why they are how they are. This is important for defining their relationship, but it’s also important for defining Doc’s relationship with Wynonna in the present.
Hopefully, this episode does provide a reasonable amount of answers, and we know along the way that there are also going to be some scenes set in the present. We’re not going to be living just in the past here, which is important given A) how much stuff is going on at the moment in between Bulshar and Mama Earp and B) how many episodes are still left to go. It’s not like we’re all that far from the end of the season and the pace of the show needs to remain pretty high in order to get everything that we want delivered to you.

No matter what happens in this episode, we’re more than expecting it to be a thrill ride — we’re also not ruling out that these “flashbacks” are not necessarily that in their purest form. They may just be Doc’s interpretation of the pas tlooking back.
