The Flash season 4 episode 16 spoilers: Full ‘Run, Iris, Run’ details
Some of the Flash season 4 episode 16 information below is such that you may have heard about it already. Nonetheless, we do think that there is enough in here that is fun, new, and therefore exciting:
IRIS SUITS UP – Team Flash confront a new bus meta, Matthew AKA Melting Pot (guest star Leonardo Nam), who has the ability to swap people’s DNA. During a battle with Team Flash, Matthew accidentally takes Barry’s (Grant Gustin) speed away and gives it to Iris (Candice Patton). Now, with a new threat unleashed on Central City, Barry must act as the team leader while Iris takes on the mantle of superhero speedster in order to defeat their new foe. Harry Jierjian directed the episode written by Eric Wallace (#416). Original airdate 3/13/2018.
What are the big takeaways from this synopsis that are somewhat new? They are twofold:
1. Learning that Matthew did not do this intentionally — we had thought that maybe this villain was intentionally trying to get an advantage by turning Iris into a speedster instead of having to face off with Barry. As it turns out, though, that is not actually the case.
2. Seeing that the real villain of this episode may be someone different than Matthew. The synopsis doesn’t give too much away, but we don’t actually think that the most-shocking thing about this episode is actually going to be who the villain is. It’s a little bit more about the shock of seeing Iris as the hero and the inevitable awesomeness that should come with that.
