MacGyver season 2 episode 15 trailer hypes up Murdoc vs. Murdoc

Before we dive into this new MacGyver season 2 episode 15 trailer, can we start by giving the folks over at CBS a little bit of credit? It’s not often that we get a promo from them longer than 30 seconds these days, but this time around the network is giving you a full-blown trailer! You can check that out below — once you watch it, you’re going to understand more of what the extra hype is merited.

This trailer features basically what is a showdown like no other. In one corner, you’ve got the new Murdoc (David Dastmalchian). In the other, you’ve got the original Murdoc from the Richard Dean Anderson show (Michael Des Barres). MacGyver and the Phoenix Foundation team are going to find themselves wedged in the middle of this showdown, and it’s going to be made all the more complicated by the fact that Des Barres’ character just so happens to be Murdoc’s former mentor. Things are going to get violent, intense, and probably immensely entertaining every step of the way. It’s hard to know just how this episode is going to end, but it feels like CBS and show producers planned out this showdown perfectly to be the last episode before the Olympic-related hiatus. They wanted to leave you on a high note if they were going to go off the air for a little while.

Could this be the episode where MacGyver finally stops Murdoc in his tracks? It’s possible, but he could also be so preoccupied in taking out this new threat that Murdoc finds a way to escape again. Obviously, he has the motivation to stop his longtime adversary: Murdoc nearly killed Samantha Cage and she’s been in recovery virtually ever sense.

No matter what happens, consider “Murdoc + Handcuffs” to be a treat to any longtime fan of the original series or just to people who love the new Murdoc and the rivalry he and MacGyver share. It’s probably the most-excited that we’ve been for an episode so far this season. How can you not be pumped up after watching this?
