MacGyver season 2 episode 15 return date: Murdocs, old and new
The first thing that we should point out is the aforementioned return date — MacGyver is going to be coming back on CBS come Friday, February 2 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. The title for this episode is “Murdoc + Handcuffs,” and the story here is going to be all about the new Murdoc facing off with the actor in Michael Des Barres who played the previous version of the character. This is a subject that we have written about before; the synopsis below offers up a little more information:
“Murdoc + Handcuffs” – After one of Murdoc’s go-to assassins agrees to hand over Murdoc to MacGyver in exchange for $10 million, the team finds itself protecting Murdoc from his former mentor, Nicholas Helman, who wants him dead. Also, Jack realizes he may still have feelings for Riley’s mother, Diane (Michael Michele), on MACGYVER, Friday, Feb. 2 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Michael Des Barres, who played Murdoc in the original “MacGyver” series, guest stars as Murdoc’s mentor, Nicholas Helman.
What makes this episode of MacGyver so important? Well, there are a number of different things about it. For starters, this episode offers up a chance to honor the original show just like they did a little bit earlier this season with Bruce McGill. Maybe this isn’t as important for viewers who never saw the original, but for some classic TV fans doing this right is critical.
Beyond this, one other thing that is essential to note when it comes to this episode is that this is the final episode of the show before the Winter Olympics. After this, there’s a good chance that the show will be off the air until March. We hope that this episode does enough in order to get people excited until that time. You don’t want viewers to suddenly realize at some point in February that they aren’t really enjoying your show enough and will, as a result of that, suddenly change their viewing habits. On paper, MacGyver season 2 episode 15 seems to be doing everything that it needs to.
