Does Supergirl season 3 episode 11 set stage for Floriana Lima return?
About fifteen minutes into Monday night’s new episode, there was a moment that caused us to raise an eyebrow — after all, Alex received a message from Maggie while looking after Ruby. This was the first time really that Maggie has been mentioned in a significant way since before the Crisis on Earth-X crossover event.
Was it a sign that Lima is coming back to the show? Not exactly, since it was instead just a text message where Maggie wanted her passport back that was seemingly left at Alex’s place. This is the sort of thing that real couples tend to go through after breakups, so we’re not altogether shocked that it happened within Supergirl, as well.
At the end of the episode Alex got the passport together to send back to Maggie, but we don’t want you to think that the entire purpose of this story was about something that Maggie forgot at her place. That’s simplifying it. Instead, what this storyline represented is that in some way, it’s keeping the character in the series’ orbit. The writers didn’t have to address Maggie; they wanted to remind you that she is still out there.
The evidence of a possible Lima return to Supergirl has been pretty clear for a long time. The show’s producers have stated that they would like to bring Maggie back into the mix, while Lima herself has said there have been talks about it — though nothing was definitive. While there are signs something is brewing, don’t assume that there is an immediate solution to the no-Maggie problem.

This is a story to ultimately keep watch on as the series continues, and we’ll keep our nose to the grindstone if there are some more updates. We know that Alex isn’t exactly over her, just as the showrunners have to know just how much this relationship means to people. Sometimes, even the smallest mention of Maggie in an episode can go a long way.
