Poldark season 4 wrap party paves way for what’s next

Poldark season 4 wrap

We recently spoke about the end of Poldark season 4 filming, and with that we’re now on to the next step: The Poldark season 4 wrap party! This is a chance for the cast to get together, celebrate their achievements, and then prepare for what is going to be a nice little break for them all.

So what more work is there to be done on the fourth season? Quite a bit, so don’t assume that the wrap party necessarily means that these episodes are set to air at all.

Here is just a small list of the work that needs to be done before these episodes are officially set up and ready to go. (There’s so much more to do than can ever be listed here.)

1. Editing – Right now the post-production crew may be getting a ton of the footage, but it has to be made into episodes! That is a long, pain-staking process that can often take many weeks or months to complete.

2. Music – Of course, without great music you’re not going to get either the right mood or the right tone.

3. ADR work – There are often times where the sound doesn’t come out perfectly on-location, just as there are also times in which a character says a line off-camera. This is what ADR work is for. The actors come in and record some of their dialogue as to make sure that it sounds perfect. Technically, the actors are not done with their work on the season yet.

Of course there is also some other “work” to be done from a promotional standpoint, and the network / production studio have to figure out what they want to do in terms of a renewal. We’re confident that a season 5 for Poldark is going to be ordered at some point in the future … but we have learned over the years to not count our chickens before they hatch.

Expect the launch of Poldark season 4 both in the UK and US later this year.
