Supergirl’s own Lena and Kara (Supercorp) are readers’ most-popular Arrowverse ‘ship
Going into this poll, our assumption was that Lena Luthor and Kara Danvers, otherwise known as “Supercorp” from everyone who checks out Supergirl, would be enormously popular. After all, they are a beloved pairing online and they also won the ‘Ship of the Year recently at the CarterMatt Awards. They formed a pretty big lead in the early going.
Yet, one of the things that we were very surprised about seeing later was the surge in votes for Sara Lance and Ava Sharpe from Legends of Tomorrow. While the two have been really fun together over the past few episodes of that show, we weren’t quite sure as to the size of their following. They’re still relatively new compared to most other Arrowverse ‘ships, but it’s pretty clear after looking at some of the voting that these are two characters many viewers out there want to see together at some point in the near future.
If we were some of the fine folks over at The CW, one of the things we would do upon looking at this list is take a little bit more stock in some of what people on social media are looking for in these shows. While you don’t have to make every second of each show about relationships (these are action-heavy shows, after all), it’s important to remember the humanity of these characters and how important relationships are for people who are watching at home. This is often how viewers relate to the characters. It gives them something to root for beyond just the heroes-vs-villains battles taking place. Those are a little more predictable just because you know that the bad guys are eventually going to lose almost every time.
The final results
Supercorp is your favorite Arrowverse ‘ship, so congratulations are in order to them! They continue to fight for these two; no matter if you like them as a friendship or a potential relationship, there’s a lot to root for anytime these two characters are on screen. Here’s to hoping for some more great moments moving forward.
