Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 10 spoilers: Big April Kepner story ahead
Now, it’s looking like April Kepner is going to have a rather big storyline coming up later this month! Think in terms of Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 10.
We already reported that the title for this episode was “Personal Jesus,” and given that April is a very religious person, it made a certain degree of sense for this to be an installment themed around her in some way. The official ABC synopsis for the hour below seems to offer up a little bit more credence to this idea:
A young boy is admitted to Grey Sloan Memorial and his case has a profound impact on the doctors. Meanwhile, April is faced with a surprising patient and Jo continues to deal with her estranged husband.
There are a couple of different things about Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 10 to unpack here, with one of the most significant ones being that Matthew Morrison is clearly sticking around for more than one episode … not that this should surprise anyone. The moment that the series brought on board someone of Morrison’s caliber the expectation was clearly that they would use him for some sort of arc. The challenge here is just how much you want to use someone who, at his core, who is a pretty darn terrible human being. (We’re sure that Morrison himself relishes the opportunity to do something very different than any role he’s taken on in the past.)

As for April’s story, there isn’t all that much revealed here but we’d like this patient to be, one way or another, someone who has an enormous impact on her life. The episodes of Grey’s Anatomy we often enjoy the most are the ones where the biggest surprises come from the most shocking places — who would imagine, for example, yet another patient being someone who changes April’s life? Maybe this patient ends up being her (ahem) personal Jesus by the end of the hour.
