Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 12 sneak peek: McGarrett stands up for Adam
Here’s the focus of the story — Steve McGarrett is in a bit of a pickle thanks to a rise in gang activity in the area. As a result of that, (and the death of an FBI agent) he wants to use Adam in order to ensure that they can put a stop to organized crime. Adam has a unique skill set thanks to his experiences in the criminal world (let alone behind bars), and Steve figures out a pretty good use for him within the team.
Unfortunately, with this idea there does also come some pretty substantial risks, with one of the biggest ones being that Adam is someone who has a lot of baggage. It’s what happens when you spend time behind bars. It feels prejudicial and it is. Adam has to be prepared to work twice as hard, and McGarrett has to be prepared to stand up for him as someone worthy of trusting. Luckily, we know that Steve is someone who cares a lot about the people around him and he’ll do everything he can to lend a helping hand.
So what’s the larger benefit to getting Adam to lead up his own team against organized crime? One of the biggest benefits is the mere fact that it gives him a very prominent place on the show. He’s not just some guy with ties to Kono that floats in and out throughout the season. While he may not be in every episode, it’s becoming all the more clear that he is an essential part of the story.
