How long could Wynonna Earp season 3 filming last?

While we wait for production to begin on Wynonna Earp season 3, CarterMatt has another question to ponder: Just how long is it going to last? That’s important on the basis of figuring out just when season 3 could premiere on Syfy — also, it may give us a little more of a sense as to what sort of palette the cast and crew are going to be working with in Alberta.

As previously reported, Wynonna Earp season 3 filming is already taking place a little bit later than usual — filming is set to begin in a couple of weeks, which is about a month later than when season 2 started up. Filming for season 2 concluded in April of 2017, which makes it easy to speculate that we could be looking at a May 2018 wrap date for the third season. While we know the snow sticks around in Alberta for a rather long time, could we actually get some hints of spring on the show by the end of it? It’s possible.

Ultimately, no matter when filming ends (so long as it’s in the spring) it shouldn’t have too much of an impact as to when the series premieres on Syfy. There’s still time for the masters in post-production to work some of their magic and make sure that everything is at the high standard that we are used to seeing with this show. We’re hoping for some more epic battles, getting to know Wynonna’s mom a little bit more, and of course plenty of Wayhaught stories and opportunities to meet new characters. There are few shows out there that combine everything that Wynonna Earp does into one neat little package — action, romance, and fun. If you loved the first two seasons, we imagine that the wait until season 3 is a long one – just know that CarterMatt will be here along the way with updates.
