New Doctor Who logo actually not a logo at all
The buzz first began when the logo below first surfaced, one purported at the time to be some sort of “leak” to the new chapter of the show with Jodie Whittaker. It was a mixture of old sentiment and new sensibility, something that felt both nostalgic and also fresh.
Basically, we loved it. For everyone out there who is complaining still about all of the change, this was a nice reminder that Doctor Who is still the same beloved show that it’s always been and not every little thing about it is in constant flux.
Yet, unfortunately, we can’t have nice things in this situation … mostly because we can’t really have things at all.
As it was later revealed, this new Doctor Who logo was really just a fan creation, as the man who came up with it admitted that he did it just to test some of his skills. (The funniest thing about his admission? Him acting as though nobody was going to be that mad at him for this. This is the internet! People are looking for reasons to be mad!)
This new logo is in contrast to the logo at the top of the article, which has represented the show through much of its modern era. We do think that the Doctor Who logo could benefit from an overhaul just for the sake of keeping things exciting. Given that this really is a new era, why not embrace that? It’s probably the biggest change for the franchise since they returned with Christopher Eccleston as the leading role. There’s a new Doctor in Jodie Whittaker, a new companion or two on the way, and then also a new showrunner in Chris Chibnall replacing Steven Moffat after many years on the job.
Doctor Who is back, and it feels like the perfect time to remind everyone that this is not the same Doctor Who of old. This is a new era and it feels right to give everyone a different aesthetic and something new to be excited about.

I really liked the fake one. Perhaps they will do like Moffat did with the “timey-wimey” opening sequence a few years ago and use it, or at least incorporate some elements.
