Claws season 2 adds American Horror Story alum Franka Potente
According to a new report from TVLine, Potente (whose credits include Taboo and American Horror Story) is going to be recurring on the upcoming season of Claws in the role of Zlata Ostrovsky. She is a woman who, on the surface, is going to be trying to be on the straight and narrow — which is no easy task given her family. She is the daughter of a powerful member of Russian mob family who does business in Florida … which just so happens to be where Claws is set. We know already that Desna (Niecy Nash) has been mixed up in some rather precarious stuff since the very start of the series; as a result of this, there is always a pretty good chance that she could face some more trouble and this Zlata character would be involved in it.
Another thing we firmly believe is this: Even though Zlata may be seemingly out of the family business for the time being, that does not necessarily mean that she is out of it forever. It feels as though she could be mixed up in a little bit more trouble down the road. Claws is the sort of show where that is easy to have happen — there’s just so much temptation to climb higher up on the social and financial ladder; often, the only way for some of these characters to do that is through some improper means.
While the specific episode count for this role has not been announced yet, expect to see Potente for a reasonable chunk of the season.
