True Detective season 3 officially filming on location
It’s with this in mind that we are pleased to report that the Arkansas filming location for True Detective season 3 is in fact now official. According to a new report coming in right now courtesy of the Arkansas Economic Develop Commission. The third season of the series starring Mahershala Ali is going to be filming in Northwest Arkansas starting next year, and is set to be one of the most expensive productions ever filmed in the region. This is seemingly a testament to both series creator Nic Pizzolatto’s vision, but also a reminder that Northwest Arkansas is not always a hotbed for many big-budget movie productions. It’s a region of the country that, before the Jason Bateman series Ozark this past summer on Netflix, there were probably many people who forgot about it entirely for years. True Detective will likely help to bring it even more on the map and expose it to people who may not be altogether familiar with it otherwise.
True Detective season 3, in terms of its premiere date, is still a rather long time down the road. While we’d love to sit here and say that the new season is probably going to come out at some point in the new year, we’re more confident of a 2019 premiere date. These sort of productions need time, given that HBO probably wants to ensure that every aspect of the series is perfect. This third season could join a really crowded 2019 for the network, especially given that the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones is also probably going to be on slate.
There is probably more in the way of True Detective season 3 casting news that is going to be released in the weeks and months to come. For the time being, we suggest that you head over here to see some of the latest while we wait for more.
