The Voice finale: Should Chloe Kohanski, Addison Agen, Brooke Simpson, or Red Marlow win?
Do we think that they all had some good performances tonight? Sure, but there wasn’t much in general to change the pecking order.
The first thing that we should do, sad as we are to do it, is to go ahead and remove Simpson from serious consideration for the title. While she is a very good singer, she doesn’t seem to have the votes or the support. She performed last during the performance show a week ago and that seems to be one of the biggest factors for her making it into the final round. There just isn’t real any evidence at the moment that she is going to have the momentum or the widespread support to get her into first or second place.
To us, the clear favorite is still Chloe, who has the most interesting voice of the remaining singers and can use it to tackle a wide range of different genres. She’s also got the most mainstream appeal just because it’s a voice people will remember on the radio … and she also has Blake Shelton as her coach. Being a Blake artist is almost always a one-way ticket towards winning the title. Red is a darkhorse contender just because of his coach, his genre and country, and the fact that he performed a really religious original song. That’s like the holy trinity for The Voice contestants to end up winning the show.
Addison, right now, is our pick to get second place. Her original song “Tennessee Rain” is pretty strong lyrically and we enjoy most of her other choices. She just doesn’t seem to have the momentum on her side.

Meanwhile, be sure to also check out the music videos for Chloe Kohanski, Addison Agen, Brooke Simpson, and Red Marlow tonight — their original songs are all at the very least solid and worth listening to another time.
