Chicago Med – Arden Cho casting: Teen Wolf alum set for major season 3 role
According to a report coming in right now courtesy of TVLine, you will see Cho recur over the course of the third season as Emily, a “semi-professional gambler.” By the way, if you are “semi-professional” at something it often means that you’re not altogether good at it and you’re likely going to run into trouble somewhere along the way. This is a woman who does occasionally find some success in her field, but also fairly regularly funds her money by getting close to men with cash.
Also worth noting — Emily just so happens to be the sister of Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee). Given how tightly-wound this guy is most of the time, do you really think as though he’s going to be altogether okay with his sister’s gambling ‘profession”? Doesn’t feel like he would be. The report also describes the character as “fun, likable, energetic, and extremely unpredictable.” Ethan is probably okay with most of those attributes — save for maybe the “unpredictable” part. There’s a pretty good chance that this is going to be something that drives him up the wall, but will make for great television!
It’s nice to have an Ethan Choi storyline this season that revolves around family, given that entering this season it felt as though there are were two things that were getting the spotlight in his life more so than any other: Some of the medical cases he was coming up against alongside his new relationship with April Sexton. As you saw in the premiere episode of the season (read our full review for it here) one of the major issues that is unraveling there is that they are in different parts of the hospital hierarchy and there is tension that comes with that. There’s also an element of uncertainty/fear for April of her other nurses judging her / lashing out at her for unfair treatment. Some of that happened in the premiere, and it’s only going to get worse until either the two split or they come out and admit to the relationship publicly making it so that everyone just has to deal with it head on.
Arden Cho played Kira for many seasons on Teen Wolf, and beyond that, some of her other credits include Castle, Hawaii Five-0, and Pretty Little Liars. If she ends up making a big splash on Chicago Med we wouldn’t mind seeing more of her beyond just this season.
