Gotham season 4 episode 8 preview: Introducing Captain Gordon?

Gotham season 4 episode 8

Is Jim Gordon on his way to becoming a Captain? It’s one of the key elements that will be at the core of Gotham season 4 episode 8.

For anyone out there familiar with the source material here, you know that it’s something that is bound to come up with this show sooner or later. If Gordon is going to someday become Commissioner it makes sense for him to start climbing the ranks now. Oh, and it also makes sense for people to be incredibly annoyed about it. Jim has never been a cop to follow the rules, he hasn’t been consistently employed by the GCPD over the past three and a half years, and his methods often leave a trail of blood in their wake. If we were an everyday cop — someone who worked hard, obeyed said rules, and got good results from our work — we’d be very annoyed that Jim is moving up the ranks an we weren’t.

The title for Gotham season 4 episode 8 is “Stop Hitting Yourself” (possibly the funniest episode title of the season). You can get even more insight on what is coming up from the synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below:

Grundy and Nygma become main attractions at Cherry’s Place in The Narrows. Penguin wants revenge when he hears Nygma is mocking him on stage and enlists The Sirens for help. Meanwhile, Gordon is offered the position of GCPD Captain, putting him at odds with Bullock in the all-new “A Dark Knight: Stop Hitting Yourself” episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, Nov. 9 (8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

We’re all about the Bullock/Gordon showdown here. Seeing these two characters at odds with one another is something that we’ve been hoping to see for a while given their differing career paths.

Meanwhile, there are some other interesting things to discuss when it comes to the Grundy – Nygma storyline. It should be fun seeing them become their version of Cherry’s Place superstars, but to us the main event of this storyline is going to be getting to see the continued battle of wits between Oswald and Ed. The Riddler trolling him during these battles is the perfect thing to set off Oswald and lead to some of his signature tantrums. Anything that gives Robin Lord Taylor good material makes us happy.
