Homeland season 7 spoilers: House of Cards, MacGyver alum cast
According to a new report from Variety, Holt — who is best known for House of Cards and her part as the original Phoenix Foundation leader on MacGyver this past season — is going to be stopping by the Showtime drama.
For the time being, the producers of Homeland are keeping the details about Holt’s role a secret. However, there are a few important things that we do know. For one, there are expectations for her to be a very important character to the story. With that, there’s a good chance she will appear in far more than the two episodes that she was originally said to be in. Given her talent level, why in the world wouldn’t they want to include her as much as they can?
At the moment, Homeland is in a very interesting place heading into season 7. Carrie finds herself in a unique position where she is outside of the President’s inner circle after that being such a big part of her story during season 7. She has to find a way to infiltrate this position and get more influence there. If she doesn’t, then there is a good chance president Keane will be controlled by some people who are not operating with the best of intentions and the country could suffer as a result of it.
Every season of Homeland is different on its own way, and what makes this one special is that it seems to be more centralized on the Washington DC area than any other over the past several years. You’ll get to see a wide array of new faces, plus also a few others who were a big part of this past season. They could play more of a significant role this time around. Take, for example, Brett O’Keefe, a man who seems be primed to have a far more important role in the story this season than ever.
New episodes of Homeland will premiere in the new year. At the moment Showtime is being coy as to when it will kick off (read more about that here), but it’s fair to speculate either the winter or the spring.
